After passing the VMware DCV VCAP Design exam I wanted to take the VCAP deploy exam. This is a lab exam, making it more fun to do! After working with VMware vsphere for a couple of years I decided to just plan the exam a couple of weaks ahead and start perparing. After rescheduling because of covid-19 quarantaine I tried to do the exam at a test center, but it couldn't start! I had to wait for Pearson VUE to refund or reschedule. Last monday I finally could do the exam. I needed all the time there was but it was fun to do! After two days I got the email that I passed, couldn't be a better start of that day!
Passing this exam makes me a VMWare Certified Implementation Expert
If you want to go for this exam, it's best to have some experience in configuring but also in troubleshooting a vsphere enviroment.
VMware provides a perpartion guide which helps to see the objectives and decide for yourself what topics need perperation. More information on most of the topics can be found on vcommunity blogs, but also Youtube is a very good source to see how certain things are configured!
During the exam I decided to write down the topics of each question. This helped me in keeping track of my progress and know which questions could take more time. The time is limited and sometimes unexpected things are broken in the lab, needing extra troubleshooting skills :-)
